To design a website that would appeal to a broader, more modern audience and, in essence, make it more user-friendly
Strategy and Approach
SHM, despite having great presence in the industry, required to modernize its website and Web presence. To that end, we had to build the new website from ground up. Also, we built it in such a way that it was always aligned with the new branding efforts carried out by the company, and facilitated user experience.
To stay a step ahead in comparison to their competitors and be at par with the current trends, SHM Shipcare’s website had to be revamped from scratch. Keeping their new brand identity as the starting point, the major challenge was to create a website that had multiple pages which gave equal focus to their multitude of products and services. A templatised format was not going to work here. Hence, SHM’s website was conceptualised and designed right from the basics to suit the wide product variety, giving equal importance to every product, right from the smallest product like a whistle to a boat.
The goal here was to garner higher enquiries. Hence, the UI/UX of the website was focused on full size images and was designed in a way that customer journeys were channeled and planned perfectly to eventually stop at product enquiries. The website was made responsive to all types of devices, improving the user’s navigation of the website, as well as adequately showcase the full range of SHM products and services.
Thus, by keeping in mind the history as well as the future vision of the company, we were able to craft a website in keeping with the times and trends of the maritime industry.
